Many have fully automatic operation, requiring no changing or “fiddling” with controls and buttons. Remote Controls and Re-Chargeable batteries are also available for some devices. 

Elimination of feedback or “whistling” is a major advance in recent times. Many hearing aids are now made in “Micro” styles (very lightweight and discreet), that sit behind your ear, or inside the ear canal, and are often hardly noticeable. The very slim tubes and earbuds (or domes that fit in the ear canal) offer an attractive cosmetic solution for those people who prefer the least visible hearing aids. Even people with a severe hearing loss are often able to wear a “Micro” style hearing aid, thanks to new and incredibly advanced fully-digital technology.

Many people suffer from tinnitus, or “ringing in the ears”. This is a very common condition and is often accompanied by a hearing loss. If you have been exposed to loud noise in the past, or have a hereditary or age-related hearing loss, you may have a high-frequency hearing loss and tinnitus.
